The same scene… can tell you two different stories! 🎬
Have you ever watched a scene and felt that the character is strong and in control?
And in another scene, you felt they were weak or scared, even though nothing changed except the camera's position?
So why does a close shot sometimes make us feel the character's emotions, while a wide shot makes us feel they are alone in the space?
The truth is that the camera doesn't just record what happens… the camera tells a story.
🎬 The frame tells a story | Angles of shooting and directorial meanings.
After presenting the workshop before, the Mixing Community is repeating it again, but this time in New Damietta, in a free practical experience where we learn how to think like a director, and use shooting angles and shot sizes to tell a story and convey a feeling.
We will learn and experiment together:
- How different shooting angles change the viewer's feeling, and when to choose each angle.
- The difference between close, medium, and wide shots, and how each one changes the viewer's focus.
- How to use the frame to convey a sense of strength, weakness, tension, or isolation.
- How to turn an idea or feeling into a series of shots that tell a story.
- How to think about choosing the frame before we press the record button.
And most importantly…
We won't just stop at the explanation 🔥
We will work with our hands, and we will try to shoot the same situation from multiple angles, and see how a simple change in the camera's position can change the entire meaning of the scene.
You don't need a camera at all
And you don't have to have studied directing or cinematography before.
If you love photography, content creation, or cinema, or if you're curious to understand how an image can tell a story… then this workshop is for you.
